Our goal: The Friends of Founders Park goals are to Protect, Inform the Public and Represent Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park.
Mission Statement: The mission of Friends of Founders Park is to generate, organize and apply financial resources and volunteer resources for the maintenance, improvement and protection of Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park in cooperation with the Town of Highlands, North Carolina.
Park Use Primary Use: Daytime use includes being a retreat for workers and visitors to sit, meet, picnic and relax. Town of Highlands Wi-Fi is provided.
Secondary Use: These events include concerts, ice skating, arts and crafts, market days, non-profit fundraisers, sponsored gatherings and festivals.

The event ticket includes three drinks, our signature shrimp boil dinner, desert, plaza seating and the event tent. Come celebrate our park at this annual community event with fellow supporters. This year’s event will be held on Saturday June 15 at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park in downtown Highlands. Food will be masterfully prepared by Chef Marty Rosenfield. Drinks begin at 5:00 PM and dinner will be served at 6:00 PM. Also, there will be live music (Front Porch Orchestra) in the park until 8:00 PM. Held ‘Rain or Shine.’ It is hard to imagine Highlands without our beautiful downtown park. Its continuing success is made possible by all that use and support it. This event serves as a ‘Fun’raiser,’ however it also helps raise funds to help keep our fine park well maintained and beautiful.
