Due to the current situation concerning the coronavirus, Friends of Founders Park has cancelled this year's Low Country Shrimp Boil fundraising event.  We plan to have Highland's signature fundraising event next year.  It was a difficult decision to make.  The "Friends" Board of Directors did not feel confident the event would not pose safety problems to our patrons and our community.  Stay tuned and we look forward to having another successful event in 2021.  Your continued interest to help Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park a great public place is very much appreciated.

Friends of Founders Park expand patio and request town resources for maintenance
Plateau Daily News article

Thank you for your generous contributions in the past to complete Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park that serves as a place for picnics, time with family, community events and provides quiet time amid the bustle of a busy shopping area.  The park is now a “centerpiece” of community gatherings and a showcase where many visitors, seasonal and year-round residents gather.  Our organization, Friends of Founders Park, serves our community to protect, inform and represent the Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park.  We provide for many aspects of park maintenance including annual flower color, replacement of storm damaged items, and pruning.  General upkeep and design guidance is provided to insure the park remains a high quality environment for public use.  The items we provide are not included in the general maintenance provided by the Town of Highlands.  Also, 100% of all donations are used for the park’s maintenance and any capital projects that may arise.
Again, thank you for your support. Your donation to the Friends of Founders Park, a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, is tax deductible.  Our Federal Tax ID number is 47-4144794. Please join in this worthwhile effort to maintain our town central park that makes our town a great place to live or visit.
